If you have a knack for mathematics and physics and a passion for passing on knowledge, consider a Physics & Mathematics Education major. Math and science classes will give you a deep understanding of mathematics and advanced physics, while education classes will train you to make those subjects accessible to your own students who may not have a natural inclination for them. Additionally, you will learn essential classroom skills, such as classroom management and discipline, assessment methods, and lesson planning based on your students’ age group.
Physics & Math Education majors spend a full semester of their senior year teaching real students locally or internationally. Each Education student teaches at two different schools for middle school or high school students, which prepares the student teachers for running their own classroom after graduation.
